USA: Executions September 2010
In September 2010, 8 human beings are scheduled to be executed in the USA. A total of 37 have already been executed in 2010 (see below).
This month, the USA distinguishes itself: a woman is scheduled to be murdered (Teresa Lewis, first woman to be executed in Virginia since 1912, with an IQ just above 70) while another woman (Gaile Owens) saw her death sentence commuted. A mentally disabled man (Holly Wood, with an IQ of 64, below the Supreme Court ‘Atkins v. Virginia’ ruling) is also scheduled to be murdered. Another seriously mentally ill person (Cal Coburn Brown) is scheduled to be murdered by the State of Washington. Notably, there are NO executions scheduled in September in Texas, where ‘Journey of Hope…From Violence to Healing’ will travel from October 15 to 31. Read the rest of this entry →
